I'm 18 weeks, and Friday i get the sonogram to determine the gender. 90% of people i know say boy lol, typical since i have two girls lol.
But i'm curious if at 18 weeks anything can be seen? My doctor has been very thorough and accurate in the past so i trust him immensly, but with my other two i fuond out their gender at 21 and 22 weeks, but since i started my sonograms and appts. at 6 weeks this is on cue....i guess i'm nervous about getting a false reading or not being able to tell, i'm dying to know and Friday isn't coming fast enough.

you can tell as early as 16 weeks- but most doctors wait until about 18 or so. you should tell if it is a boy by now. good luck with everything. boys are so much fun!

At your 18 week sonogram they should be able to tell, but sometimes the baby is in the wrong position to see that area.
Good Luck

you probable is basically no longer waiting to inform, because at 16 weeks, it truly is nonetheless each so often not hassle-free for the sex to be got here upon, they often wait til 18-22 weeks to allow you to comprehend the sex. often, you're meant to have more effective then 2 ultrasounds. they could see the organs of the toddler and how issues are growing to be and what no longer. i'm particular think ofyou've got yet another danger, and if no longer... it isn't the end of the international. you'll adore that toddler no be counted what gender, and it may be annoying yet a marvel is by no ability a nasty ingredient!!

I found out at 18 weeks and reconfirmed at 30 weeks. The sonographer told us that we're having a boy both times.
Congratulations and good luck!

I got mine done at 19 weeks, I had to have one at 16 as well & the girl couldnt tell anything then.
even mine at 19 weeks the girl wasnt 'exactly sure'
if this is your 'big' u/s and they wont schedule another one to find out gender, I'd request it to be done at 20+ weeks.
I am going to be so mad if my baby isnt a girl like the u/s tech said, lol
I havent had another u/s done since my 19 week one.
good luck!!

between 17 and 22 weeks is the average time, although some ob's prefer to wait until after the 20 week mark to be sure that you can tell.

Usually at 4 months you can tell the gender. If the baby's legs are crossed, or if they have issues, ask if you can empty your bladder more, and the baby will usually move. You must be so excited! Good luck

a really good Dr. can tell at 18 weeks. They see so many ultra sounds that for them its just a naked baby swimming in a pool.
GOOD LUCK and congrats. Maybe you should just try and wait .Have the dr. write it down and put it on a piece of paper and seal it in an enevelope. It might be fun.

it's best to wait until after 20 weeks. but not too much longer than that - then the size of the baby could prevent finding out.
