I'm older than dirt :) I kinda sorta *I think..lol* remember seeing it on some PBS like station way way back in the late 1970's or early 80's. The only scene I recall being edited is when Graham Chapman *RIP Graham..we still miss you* opened the window fully naked and realized there was a crowd of followers outside.

I imagine it would have been banned in places like the Bible Belt in the States.

It caused uproar among Religious types as they thought it was blasphemous and was taking the mickey out of the story of Jesus and the Crucifixion.

Yes there was an outcry from the church in fact there was an interview between a member of the clergy and the python team and he preceeded to rip them to shreds over the content of the film............blessed are the cheese makers

I think it was once banned in a country but I don't think it has ever been banned from tv .It's going to be on tv soon anyway
