I chat to them in text, i talk to them with voice. But i just don't feel that they are my friends even though we have lots of friendly conversations. I feel like they are just imaginary friends. Can you really consider them real friends?

I don't think that you ever have to meet someone in person to consider them a real friend. A friend has many different qualities and if the ones that you talk to online meet what you consider a friend then I would say yes. I have many online friends, some that I feel closer to than ones that I have met in person. Anyway a real friendship starts on the inside and then the out.. So yes def. they are your friends!!!

With the internet making the 'world' a much smaller place there's no reason to not call the daily contact with someone who you've never met, friendship. I, like another replier, have friends online who I've been more open with than friends in person. They all get the same honesty and respect from me, whether they're in my home town or half way round the world.

I really enjoy the different kind of relationship I have with my online friends. I find I can share things with them that I wouldn't share with real-life friends. Yes, I definitely consider them friends.

No you can't consider them "real" friends. Perhaps if you got to know them in the real world and still held affection for them - but a person hiding behind a computer screen shouldn't be considered anything more than a "computer (geek) pal".

Nope you cant.. the only reason that people go online to chat is because they are bored and they are satisfying there own needs by having online freinds... you may have a freind that you know who is also online, thats different

a friend is a person who is there for you, well, they are there for you.
are they a GOOD friend, nope, cause you can't rely on them to be of help taking the garbage out !
Good friends are rare like gems and being a Good friend to someone else is even more important for you psyche

It depends on your on-line friends....
but sometimes they are even better than real friends because they give realy good advices....
generraly you never met this peple and you don't realy know them...you haven't done enything together(like going somewhere on hollidays...)
and they can dissapere in any time...
..generally they are temporery friends...
thats why they just can't be real friends....

Well.. for me... i eventually get to meet them.. and honestly the difference usually isn't that big! In some cases they are .. its just depends again on the person.

Depends on your relationship, I would... Your only separated by your geographical location in most places.

If they lived down the street and you'd go and visit and do things together, then your friends, if not then your just e-friends I guess.

i think Yes especiall y if you feel that they are sincere. It doesnt matter wether u are not physically round them.what matters is ,that they are there for u whenever u need them .you should be lucky that they have ears to help you in times of trouble.
