There is a1977 version that was made for television, "It Happened One Christmas" starring Marlo Thomas as Mary Bailey Hatch.

Also, try "The Bishop's Wife" with Cary Grant and Loretta Young. It's not exactly the same and technically Cary Grant is the lead, but it's still really good.

It Happened One Christmas starred Marlo Thomas as Mary Bailey. She marries George Hatch. It aired on i or Pax this past Christmas. Don't waste your time or money on renting this one.
