The members of a curling team are as follows:
Lead - throws first rocks, sweeps for 2nd, 3rd and skip
Second - throws second rocks, sweeps for lead, 3rd and skip
Third - throws third rocks, sweeps for lead & 2nd, holds the broom for the skip
Skip - strategist for the game, decides where the other team members will try to put their rocks, throws the rocks last.
On a professional and/or competitive team, there is also a 5th player (an alternate). There can also be a coach.

This player is call the Skip. The Skip call all the shots, tells his team when to sweep, and throws the last 2 rocks for his team.
