hey chick!
i tried everything and but to be honest whenever the cravings kicked in i wasnt bothered about going to chew gum. i wanted a cigarette. but then i read Dr carrs book on stopping smoking.
its brilliant. its like psychotherapy that you give to yourself. at the end of the book (without using stupid phrases like "smoking is bad for you, smoking gives you cancer etc. that youve heard a million times) your whole perception on smoking is changed and you just find it so much easier to say no to your next smoke.
also a bit i liked in it is that he says that every cigarette you smoke is your last cigarette. every time you finish your cigarette you have quit. and everytime you light up you start again.
this meant that two weeks in when i had a sneaky one in the pub that i didnt feel like i had failed and just continued on but i was able to realise that it was a mistake and i had still suceeded in wanting to stop..and havent smoked in two years. you can do it and it is soo worth it. the book is cheap enough. 9-12e.
