"I've been trying to go back to school lately but there's one subject that hunts me and I cant seem to pass it no matter how many times I take the class. Math. I've been trying to pass pre algebra and algebra so I can finish school but I cant seem to be able to get thru it I took tutoring classes cause the teachers didnt help much and even tried to take a sample test and still cant get thru. Can someone help me with this and tell me how can I pass this class so I can get my diploma once and for all? I am requred to take pre algebra, beginning algebra and statistics to graduate. the tests are also the hardest for me cause I cant sem to get thru them. please help me

I am so sorry you can not get your Dip cause of Math. I suffered the same but guess what? I now never had any problem with any Math. These are the secrets.
1. Evaluate your self and see what you know in maths
2. Go to the basics of each topic you approach. eg you could start with numbers, numberline, set theory etc, etc
3. Read quietly to understand every concept especially the simplest
4. Practice on numerous problems
5. Ask your friends to help you understand where you can not.
6. Concentrate on a question to understand the problem being asked, link the problem to the relevant topic and move on.
I am sure you will smile all the way to the graduation square. Remember, start from the lowest level (say lower primary work). you can never get college maths if you have problems with the basics.
I am sure could have assisted you if you were near me. But I am confindent you will pass. Maths is the simplest subject take it from me.

Are you good at things like art and music?
If you are good at music or art, look at math -like- music or art. Music and art uses math all the time. There is symmetry, balance, rhythm and harmony in music and art. All of these things depend on math. And I bet you didn't know it.
If you look at a sunflower or a pine cone... and examine its pattern as it grows, it is extremely simple -- and beautifully mathematical. The same pattern can be found in a nautilus shell. It is known as a Fibonacci sequence.
Things like the orbit of the earth, gravity, relativity, the distance your car travels in an hour -- things all around you -- can be expressed using math.

tutors are a way to help you when you cant just get that darn Math..... Also start with the easiest problems then work your way up to the hard ones, Don't send you questions to no one to answer them for you, because you will be cheating yourself... When the time comes in real life and you cant solve the math problems for yourself because you asked some one to do it for you, then you will regret it. Study, ask for tutors, ask question to the professors, because that what they get pay to do, to answer your questions.

Get books and read read read...Make sure if you are struggling on one type of problem do that type of problem over and ove and over. Know why you are doing something, not just how to do something...Hope this helps!
