Higher Education Access Route
The Access scheme is not just for students who do not get enough points in the Leaving Cert, but who, for a variety of social and economic reasons are underrepresented at third level colleges. The scheme is run with the third level colleges and 'linked' schools. A couple of the colleges run schemes for students from schools not within the linked scheme.

Access DCU
This is an alternative Access Route developed by the DCU Access Service which targets any student in the Republic of Ireland facing socio-economic and educational disadvantage regardless of which school they attend.

The University of Limerick aims to promote the participation of underrepresented groups at third level. In order to achieve this we have introduced a direct entry policy for students from backgrounds traditional underrepresented at third level.
