finger nail polish remover with acetone in it will remove the super glue. Saturate a q-tip swab and dab on the super glue spot and gradually work the spot off so that you do not rub the acetone all over your counter top.

No one asked what the worktop is made of and you didn't tell us. The difference is critical. You don't do it the same for laminated plastic, e.g. Formica. as you do for wood.
If it's laminated plastic, use acetone to dissolve it. Do NOT let any acetone get into any joints in the plastic, it can damage the glue. This also works on stone and metal surfaces.
If it is butcher block, so it really is a work surface, the acetone should be fine also. If it is a decorative wood surface, like a varnished wood, the acetone will damage the finish unless used very VERY sparingly.
If the surface is strong enough, a single edged razor blade can be used to cut under the glue, like you would do in removing paint. Most surfaces can be scratched too easily to do that, unless you are extremely careful.

super glue remover from your local hardware merchant.
you don't say what type of worktop it is,laminate = no probs
wood = no probs corian=big probs stone = not to bad
check the manufactures instruction,
if all else fails have a look under the worktop (in the cupboards)
and you should find a manufacturers label and search them on the net and contact them
hope this helps

please dont try a heat gun, just pour hot water on there and scrape of with your nail on your finger, your nail is very soft but strong at the same time, this way you wont ruin your worktop, that is if it is not a smooth work top. if it is 100% smooth eg marble granite, then get a very sharp blade and hold at a slight angle and it will peel strait of, like a window scraper, goog luck, failing that just leave it there and time wife you wasing it will wear it thin, or try a piece of 00 wire wool, try on a piece that cant be seen 1st though

attempt great Glue remover. It breaks down the cyanoacrylate in Superglue and makes it much less stressful to wipe up. i've got used it on outfits and palms... attempt it on a small inconspicuous section first to make certain what it rather is going to do to the floor. And good success.
