My friend is so annoying, everytime i go anywhere she has to come with me. Shes not very bright ( not to be mean) but everytime i try to help her at school, she starts callin me names. Ive tried asking her to stop being so annoying but she just goes 'yes MUM' and acts like i dont mean it. Shes the sort of girl that bullies always pick on and she hasnt really got any other friends so i cant just tell her to get lost!
What can i do????

She gets on all my other friends nerves as well and theyve stopped hanging round with me because of her!

My advice is to set clear boundaries with her and be consistent. For example, let her know in very clear terms that each time she calls you names, you won't have anything to do with her for an entire week, and then if she calls you names, make good on your threat and don't have anything to do with her for the whole week. Even if she's a slow learner, she'll catch on, and you'll be doing her a big favor in the long run.

Say:

"You know, since I'm your ONLY friend, I feel like I have the right to say what I'm getting ready to say. You are extremely annoying when you act like that, and I'm only telling you that because I care about you and I still want to be your friend. If you can't control your actions, then I can't justify us hanging out anymore."

Good Luck!

I had a friend like that at one point in my life. There was one point where this friend had said something derogatory to me and someone else pointed out that she was lucky that I was her friend and that she should shut up.

You shouldn't be mean and alienate her...but you also need to put your foot down when she is being annoying or an idiot and give yourself more space from her. You need to also start involving yourself with your friends more--encourage her to involve herself in clubs or activities that do not include you.

Sounds like she's got multiple personalities . .... or is just plain using you to be "seen" with you and to help her with her schoolwork ... why else would she call you names if she were a true friend?

You can tell her to get lost, it's a free world!

just say to her:
"look, no one likes you because you're so annoying all the time - either grow up or I'll stop hanging around with you as well"

I've been in this same situation. You seriously just need to sit her down and be like look- i really want to be your friend, but you're making it hard. and tell her how you feel.
