Are they married? It makes some difference. So does the state they reside in. In Texas even if you are just roomates, it will matter who's name is on the lease. Even if their name is not on the lease, you will generally be required to evict them.
Hope that helps some.

No not at all. She lives there as he does. So want if he pays all the rent. That is her home as much as it is hes. If he changed the locks in she can't get in. All she has to do is go to the police station in tell them. And they will following her back or meet them (police) there(at the home) and he would have to let her in. This person would have to go though a legal eviction. It don't matter if he payed all the bills. Her things are there she gets mail she pays water/garbage she has a key to the house. Neighbors know she lives there. If he was to kick this person out he can get in trouble for illegal eviction. I know this so well because I went though it. One morning I went to take my kids to school in when I came back I couldn't get in. At first I got scared. In the only think I thought about was am going to call the police and I did. They had to let me in. In the police told them they have 1 day to get me a new key. If they didn't and if I was to call them back they will go to jail for a illegal eviction. So of course I got my key and 6months later I moved when I was ready.P.S. In if hes name is the only one on the rental agreement, according to the law it don't make a differences, she has accomplish residence in that home. So don't let that scare you. Lots of people think if your name isn't on the rental agreement you have no rights. Wrong the law says if you lived I know in CA the law says more then 2 or 4 weeks you have rental rights.

I'm sure it would depend on what state you lived in. I know I was in a deal kind of like that except it was me that wanted him out. Almost everything was in my name. Now if his name was on the lease, he could have stayed. Most all the bills were in my name. But the only way that I could get him out was to move out myself. He paid somethings, but I paid for almost everything. We even thought the the rental agreement was in both names but it wasn't. So IF both names are there, nobody can kick nobody out, BUT IF only his name is, I would say yes. Talk to the landlord and see what they say. That is your best bet. We lived together for 4 years before all this happened too.
The reason I wanted him out was cause he cheated on me.

No, he doesn't have the right to kick her out. If they live together, both names should be on the rental agreement, everything needs to be on paper. If he kicks her out, she can take him to court. No matter who pays what, the rental agreement should be under both names. If they can't get along, then they have no business living together in the first place.

let's see his name is on the lease or rental aggreement.
She is buying soap, and laundry detergent, means very little. You pay bills, thats a great thing to do.
Now get out!

same here.
he is the one on the lease and one day we had a BIG fight and he kicked me out of the apartment right?, that night he tried to scare me saying he was going to call the police if i didnt get out of "his" place and that i didnt have any rights blah blah and then since he didnt even let me get my purse and stuff i went to the landlord's and we called the police. turned out that I HAD ALL THE RIGHT to stay in the apartment because I help him to pay the rent and even if my name is not on the lease, I live there and by law I can stay there for up to 3 months (i can use that time to look for another place) and he has no right to lock the door or ask me to give him the keys. LOL now he knows better!!!! this happened in San diego CA. so, there you go, you have rights!!!!!
the police officer told me about ALL my right in front of him and he even asked me if i wanted to press charges LOL and that if I felt in danger i could always call them and they were going to be there with me if I wanted to get my stuff & decided to leave

no way as long as she has proof that she is contributing to the household there is no way he can kick her out..If he is the husband it's both of ther house if he is the boyfriend as long as she can show proof she is helping out.She should have things in her name though if she is paying utilites or only pay by check or money order with her name on it.(I know I been there done that.

If only his name is on the lease / rental agreement, then yes he can kick her out at any point legally.
Nothing else matters. Period.

I guess if he wants to live without lights & heat & toilitries, etc. yeah, he can. If she is on the lease with him though he can't do that. If he did that to me I would immediately have all utilities disconnected & take every single thing I paid for myself out of the house.
