If you have an anti-virus program running, you may need to disable it to install itunes correctly. Try uninstalling itunes, disabling the anti-virus, then restarting your computer and re-installing itunes. This worked for me.

Make sure that you selected the right Operating System when you downloaded the software. iTunes is made by Apple Computer, which is NOT pc-based. Your computer should've detected which operating system you needed, but you may have accidentally selected the wrong one.

Also, assuming that you have a PC, when it comes up and asks if you want to RUN, or SAVE the program, just select RUN. That will make it more of an automated process.

Here's a link to the software, just in case you need it again.

But you should've received a disk when you bought your iPod. If I remember correctly, it should've installed whatever version of iTunes that was on the disk, and then when you start iTunes, it would automatically detect that you need a newer version and would do the work for you.

Good luck and don't give up. I don't know why you're having trouble because Apple has really made this a very intuitive process. The iPod is great, and I hope you have all the fun in the world with it.

Best,

unistall it then reinstall it, but before you do that... did you get a c-d with your iPod, you might need to instal that on the comp first but if you did then reinstall the Itunes before you put that
c-d on but did you restart your cmputer before you tried opening iTunes and do you have a mac or a PC... these are thing us people should know. I could prolly have the answers for you if put more detail into it.

Visit apple again, download iTunes that suit your OS and try. If your cd can play music in iTunes, then you can put music to your ipod.
