Cajuns originated from people who migrated from Arcadia in Canada. Now, they are a "mix" of a lot of nationalities...French, Black American, Spanish, American Indian...and "creole" is simply a mixture of those bloodlines with a little black thrown in. I tell you, creole people are simply beautiful !!! "Real" Cajuns speak a broken french. At any rate, Cajuns are in Louisiana. You want to have some fun and music; you want to pass a good time and eat good food, che'? Then come on down to Cajun land!!! From New Orleans to St. Charles, Lafayette, Houma...anywhere in South Louisiana. Godloveya and Greetings from New Orleans!

It is more French American. Low country. Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi. African Americans certainly can. In fact I think I have met more African Americans with Cajun Dialect than not.

it refers to a group of people that came from Acadia in Canada (part of the French area there), and moved to Louisiana. "Acadian" was shortened to "Cajun".

but that was several hundred years ago, and they have spread and intermarried since then. Cajun now refers to people from a large area of southern Louisiana, and there are many African Americans with Cajun heritage.
