I would agree with eveyone else. Go to www.crucial.com and use their memory scanner. Download it and it will scan you entire system to see which memory would be best for you. They are a great company, prices are competitive and the chips are good quality. This is probably the simplest way to do it.

The best thing to do if you do not want to remove the case of your pc is to go to www.crucial.com/uk and look for the scanning tool which scans your system and then tells you what RAM you need.

It is determined by your motherboard.

If you have a "brand name" PC, try going to www.kingston.com and click on the "system specific memory" link -- it will guide you through figuring out what kind of memory you need.

If your pc is somewhat new (built in the last 5 years) , you will probably need DDR memory-- Older computers might need SD Memory.

you need to go to a shop if you don't know what you have already. Failing that, get the make/model of your motherboard from START>RUN *dxdiag* (ignoring stars) and google it!!
