You get a thumbs down for stating your opinion?
For example, in a question where somebody says, "What's your favorite ice cream?" you say "chocolate" and somebody gives you a thumbs down...I can't help but laugh.

LOL - I know! Someone asked if anyone had a dog and I answered that I did and got a thumbs down. Did they think I was lying?! I was like, wtf?

LOL, that IS funny. I am new to this Question and Answer thing so I haven't reached the level yet where I can give thumbs up or down but I haven't noticed if I have received any. I guess I won't take it personally if you can get a thumbs down for liking chocolate. LOLOL

YES!! That happens to me all of the time! I'll just answer a question giving my real answer and I get a thumbs down. LOL I don't give thumbs down unless somebody is being rude and slandering the asker...or if it is an objective question (like in Homework Help) and one of the answers is actually wrong.

I noticed that too, I answered a question of what was my worst job and I stated I worked on the line at a Frozen Pizza factory, and I got thumbs down. I was like "really it was my worst job". Go figure when dealing with people.

I don't think it's funny when you're stating your opinion but I do feel the person deserves a thumbs down if they're just being ignorant in their reply.

Personally, I never give a thumbs down unless someone is being rude to the person asking the question. To call someone names for a legitimate questions is just lame.

yes...i also think its funny when people give you thumbs down when you clearly have the right answer.
oncei got a thumbs down for naming all the states with a double "n" in them...when the question asked me too. and i got 5 thumbs down!!! what the hell???
