A score of 96 is an average result, which means that in general, you and the majority have similar capabilities. But there are a number of very important considerations that IQ can't evaluate just by giving you a number. Whatever you scored, the IQ doesn't give any indication of your willpower, your creativity, and your focus. You could be a gifted artist with an IQ of 80, and have much to offer the world that someone with an IQ of 150 can't compete with. My friends brother has a Phd in Nuclear Physics from Oxford University in England. He's very good at maths, but he's also the most stuck up boring person I've ever met. What good is that?
If you want to take your ACT's and you're determined to do well, nothing can stop you from achieving what you want. IQ is too general to be taken overly seriously.

The average IQ score is a 100 with a standard deviation of 15, so your score is well within the 68% of the population range. Anyway, IQ scores will flucutate slightly, so maybe if you took it in a few weeks you'd score, say, a 103.
About doing well on the ACTs, the ACT and an IQ test are entirely different. IQ tests are more brain puzzle type of questions, and the ACT is something you can prepare for if you so desire. If you're worried about doing well, I would highly recommend it. Try taking practice tests, take an instructional class, or invest in a tutor.

96 falls within the average. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Motivation is more important for success than intelligence.

If you did an IQ test on the internet then I would completely ignore it. You really need to do a professional test administered by a psychologist in person (it doesn't matter if the website said it was created by PhD's, it is still dodgy).

On top of this, many IQ tests contain subtle cultural biases. IQ test results are only valid if the test is tailored to your specific culture.

It is not too bad. The average is 100.What do you mean take my act. If you meant to take the iq test over, go ahead, you may possibly get a better score.

IQ tests are unintelligent in their design and purpose. Just like the ACT, SAT, ASVAB, and every other standardized test, IQ tests measure one ability only- how good of a test taker are you?
Written tests are unrealistic because as much as they may try, they do not mimic real life situations to measure ones ability to apply their knowledge. When i was in basic training, i knew a guy who nearly aced the ASVAB. Yet i had to help him make his bed and prepare his uniform. Talent and ability are far more important than scores and weighted averages.
