I'd think it's just a coincidence.

Coincidence: According to some Judaic sources, the Star/Shield of David signifies the number seven: that is, the six points plus the center. The earliest extant Jewish text to mention it is the Eshkol Ha-Kofer by a Karaite named Judah Hadassi, from the 12th century CE: "Seven names of angels precede the mezuzah: Michael, Gabriel, etc. ... Tetragrammaton protect you! And likewise the sign, called the 'Shield of David', is placed beside the name of each angel." The Star of David is a symbol of the King of ancient Israel.
The number of the beast, on the other hand, is from Revelations, and deals (many believe) with the identity of the Antichrist (though some believe it is a numerological transliteration from Hebrew letters of the name of the Roman emperor Nero).

No
17 And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name. 18 Wisdom is needed to understand this. Let the one who has understanding solve the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.
You need to 1.) use wisdom not fear or superstition or racism, 2.) You need to understand that the number is of a man. Thus it represents a "man" not a nation or race of people, it represents a evil leader. I don't think David qualifies either as being evil or being on the stage during the time of the judgment of God. I would suggest you quit reading hate literature.

No, you are mistaken, that number came from an ancient branch of the kabalah called Gematria... Each letter carries a numeric value by which you can associate words and it´s meanings into a deeper knowledge. The number 6 is associated with Tiphereth a Sephira of the Tree of Life... Ah, just go read about kabalah and gematria... Will make things clear, but I say this, it has NOTHING to do with the devil, quite the opposite actually. Regards, Gabriel.

No. That is the number representing the antichrist who will show himself at the end of the world. The jewish community doesn't fulfill the description Paul gives when he's telling the Gentiles the end of the world is going to be awhile.
According to numerology, 666 means eternally just short of perfection. 3 = eternity, 7 = perfection, 6 = just short of perfect.

Sort of, but not in the way you propose. "Numerology" an ancient Jewish form of divination was used to make revolutionary statements about the emperor Neron Caesar, who's numerological number just happens to be "666".
