I often do, even though it only weighs me down and doesn't keep my mind open for the life I can have now.
The way I see it, everything happens for a reason, and for some reason we made a choice we may regret now, but may open up newer and better lives in the future.

Hello =)
Most of us do at one point or another....there is even a word for it...it's called "regret".....
Of course, you realize that every day, we make choices that take us down paths that are like forks in the road....the simplest of choices are the ones that could have made the biggest differences in our lives, of course, and the ones we think would have made a big difference, may not have.....
So, regret is really a silly thing, after all....
For example, if, say 3 and a half years ago, you would have gone to the movies with a friend, instead of staying home, because you didn't want to spend the money, you may have met an old friend, and talked to her on the phone. Maybe later you would have gone to the mall shopping with her, and met the one true love of your life, but none of that happened of course, because you never did go to that movie, and you just stayed home instead.....
So, while regret may seem a part of every decision, it really isn't....regret only surfaces when we begin to imagine how our life might have been different if we had made certain choices....but we don't know any of those things.....perhaps, had we made the choices we think would have made us happier, we might have had some sort of horrible accident, and died.....
Who knows??
We all have regrets, but they really are silly....
Namaste,
--Tom

I've thought about it, but I definitely don't "mourn" it.
I was conditionally accepted to the Naval Academy and the Coast Guard Academy out of high school, but I couldn't go because of color vision problems. I was heartbroken at the time because I worked my butt off to get into those places and it seemed like my dreams were crashing down around me. But now I realize that if I would have gone to one of those places I wouldn't have met my wife and I wouldn't be where I'm at today. I think about how different my life would have been and wonder where I would have ended up, but I don't regret that it happened because I love where I'm at today and I love my wife and our 3 children.

No, because whilst you're still here you can change the life you actually have. Life isn't a rehearsal so instead of having regrets about things in the past, look forward and make the most of the future (sounds cheesy I know but otherwise constantly thinking about the past will make you miserable).

I do mourn it sometimes. Or the life I had before a mortgage, a spouse, kids, responsibility, etc... I LOVE my children, but sometimes I miss that freedom that I had when I was 18.

I sure do. The life I could have had if I had not wasted a decade of my life being focused on drugs. While I can honestly say that I do no have any regrets, the thought of what could have been does haunt me, at times.

Well, I don't mourn it. I just wish that I had listened to my mother and my conscience and not my heart. I just wish I would have made better decision and when I seeked advice, I wish I would have listened.

Yes very much so. I regret not being able to be a stay at home mom with my kids. I hate missing out on this time with them while they're little.

Yes, all the time. I wish I would have done what I wanted to do, instead of letting other people influence my decisions. Mainly parents and ex-girlfriends...
