I just saw "The Island" last night. I can't believe I've never even heard of it. It was pretty darn good. Good rental if you're into sci-fi/action flicks. What movie would you consider to be completely under-rated?

Mookie. Ever heard of it?
It's a French children's film from about ten years ago, before Asterix started making French children's films popular again.

A UFO gives an escaped pet chimpanzee the ability to talk. She then gets the help of a monk and a boxer (Eric Cantona), as the three go on the run from nuns (who fear that she proves evolution), gangsters and... better not start with the spoilers.

It's set in Mexico and the scenery is fantastic.

I'd suggest it if you liked the Iron Giant or Short Circuit.

Joe vs. the Volcano. Pure genius.

Being There - great movie, but certainly not under rated. It won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (Melvyn Douglas) and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Peter Sellers). The screenplay won the 1981 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Film) Best Screenplay Award, as well as the 1980 Writers Guild of America Award (Screen) for Best Comedy Adapted from Another Medium. It was also nominated for the 1980 Golden Globes Best Screenplay Award.

"Being There" with Peter Sellers. It's about a sheltered, dim-witted man who eventually ascends to power and influence in Washington DC. Sounds prophetic, doesn't it?

It's a subdued, dark comedy which is why most people in this Jim Carey-slapdash society probably wouldn't appreciate something toned down and subtle. But it's Seller's last great performance and every clever and nuanced in its writing.

Get your tickets and bypass for your movie. in case you get blocked, bypass see yet another movie yet really basically bypass into the Watchmen theater. should not be too complicated. I were given to work out Harold and Kumar get away from Guantanamo Bay at the same time as i became 16.

Bowfinger - Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy were phenomenol. A comical take on making a movie in Hollywood without the "backing".

A lot of people have problems with M. Night Shymalan's films,
I like them and they always convey a good message, and they always have a tight script and good characters, so SIGNS, THE VILLAGE and LADY IN THE WATER

I loved Hook and everyone I know hates it. I liked Toys but mainly for the music. What Dreams May Come makes me bawl like a baby. Dune (again for the music). Daredevil was okay... not great but I think a lot of people rank it lower than it deserves. Serenity was great, too - my wife watched the DVD with me and loved it.

"Honestly... there could be tears."
