They do bleed a little. The earlobes just aren't very vascular.

NO there is NOT cartilidge in your earlobes. When your earlobe gets pierced, it stretches the skin and immediately puts an earring in there. If you look at an earring the first time you take it out after it heals, sometimes there's dried blood on it. If it DOES bleed, it's not so much it would go outside of the earring which is actually in a way holding the blood in. But there is DEFINATELY NOT cartilidge in your earlobes, it's in your upper ear.

They do bleed, but usually with the earring in place, it's not something you notice because it's usually a small amount. The upper ears though, for some reason, seem to bleed more, although they appear to have more cartilage. Always wondered why.. :)

Most likely because you're placing a small diameter object through an area that lacks major vasculature. There's tiny amount of bleeding, but it stops pretty much right away. Also, the trauma of the piercing causes localized swelling that stops the bleeding.

the person who pierces your ear (please, dont do it yourself) usually doesnt hit a vein. there are very few in the ear lobe. if they do get a vein then it will bleed a little (the veins are quite small). the earring just goes through.

Because for one thing there is no blood running through your ears and second your ears are made of cartilage, skin, and some fat.
