Ok, so tonight is the national championship game, and i told my mother after Ohio State beat Michigan that i was going to go all out for the game. I had stuff to put in my hair to make it red just for that night, i was going to go to the costume shop in my area(its open all year round) to get some face paint and such. I had my clothes all lined up and everything. Until a few days ago she told me i couldn't.
She told me that i might want to tone it down because it wasn't just going to be our family at our uncle's house. my aunt is having family over too. now i'm not even going to the party.
what would make my mom change her mind like that? She would have known that my aunt was having her family there way before hand too?

Maybe she just had time to give your plans some thought, or maybe she's just being respectful of the other people.. You need to go ask her.why and maybe explain how disappointed you are when you've been planning this for so long. Is there a way you can compromise? Being asked to tone it down a little isn't so bad.

It's one thing for a group of fans to dress up and go to a game. But to dress up for a little family party?

Im on your moms side sweets. I wouldnt want my daughter looking like that in front of my family and my family's friends either. She could probably picture what you would look like, and realize how embarrased she will be if you show up like that.

i cant agree with anyone here.I understand what you mean.She really shouldnt have teased you like that.Its not so much that she didnt want herself to look like a idiot for your behaviors more like she didnt want you to look like one.Either way you should obay your mother and really think "do u HONESTLEY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to dress up like that in front of TONS
