I agree and suffer this problem all the time. I am an engineer at a large office block so i wear overalls most of the time. The looks i get from some of the suited office workers is not dissimilar to you looking at a dog turd. But the jokes on them, i earn at least double what they do so i dont care.

I totally agree. I got promoted at work & jumped up quite a few rungs of the career ladder. My colleagues just assumed that because I had moved up in my career that I would be a different person & not talk to them anymore. That hurt because anybody that truly knows me knows that I am not & never will be that type of person. Of course all the others see that now but it did hurt at the time that they thought that of me.
Also, I have to wear a suit everyday. People treat me soooo differently when Ive got my suit on to when Im just wearing my normal scruffs. I get 100% more respect from strangers when I have my suit on, eventhough I am no different whatsoever nomatter what I am wearing.

It's a natural thing to immediately judge someone, survival instincts never go away.
Thing is people always have their own agenda, for example sometimes two guys won't like each other, the only reason being they are equally in competition for girls so they don't want to be around each other, it's not always that someone has actually a valid reason for not liking someone, it can be down to other factors as well.

I totally agree with everything you say, a lot of people are only too quick to judge others without getting to know them , or at least find out about them first. !!

It's a sad fact of this modern pc run society. There is very little respect from some people today......and if you are a genunely nice person....people tend to look at you suspiciously......they won't get me down though.....i'm not changing and stooping to their level.
Don't you change either hun

Unfortunately your right. The culture in this country now is to look after yourself and to hell with everyone else, this is along side of the jealous nature, like putting down when they have something they would like to have. Your right Beauty is only skin deep. The only combat to this, is by being yourself and do it your way, that way you are happy.

you can start the ball rolling today, be nice to 3 people, i shall be nice to 3 people tomorrow, and will continue to do this most days, cos people are surprised when you say something to them like, what a cold day, need a help, or just smile at them.great idea, thank you.

It's all part of the culture of disrespect that's out there at the moment. Even popular shows like Big Brother treat their contestants like dirt and call it entertainment.
