For christmas I got a learning electric guiter. It connects to my pc via usb. Has led lights on it for finger position. This guiter has really helped me learn guiter so far. The ability to load a song I want to learn and play it is very cool. Here's the website. If you want to learn electric and can afford it this is the way to go!

Electronic guitars rather easy to play and learn. tension of electric guitar strings are relatively low. Its all about your preference. type of the guitar does not do any change for learning.
