It's a site for lesbians (and to a much lesser extent, for bisexual women and MTF transexuals) run by a lesbian couple in Germany.
They have over 100,000 members. In all my years chatting and making friends there, I have never run into anyone I suspected of being a man.

Restrict those you talk to, to those with pictures.
Then there was the case of one of my ex's. Started out as a Real Lesbian, then transitioned into a guy. Start out with a gf and end up with a bf. But I digress....

Your best bet would be local places. A local lesbian bar or social groups.
Online, you may want to be a bit less conventional. online groups that cater to the lesbian community are great, but also perhaps messageboards that are attached to tv shows (like L Word) that would draw a large gay following.

Try hitting the gay bars in your area that always seems to work. You'll get a sense of who you're meeting and know upfront if you would be interested in continuing a friendship with that person.

Meet them face to face by going to social events, a gay cruise, check the paper or Yahoo groups to find something in your area.
