I am studying History at University of North Texas, and I am working on getting enough upper level classes to finish up. I took a history class and got a D. Now I know that it wouldn't count towards my 30 advanced History credits, but I think I might be able to apply it as an elective.

yes, it would count as an elective. it will also mess up your GPA.

yup, you got it, you passed, it's yours. Yeah, it'll pull down your GPA, but over a four year degree, it won't hurt you that bad (just don't get any more Ds). And I don't see why it couldn't be applied to your history credits, but if you don't want it applied in your major, you can take another advanced history course and yep, chalk that one up as an elective or fulfilling a humanities requirement or something like that.

it all counts...it will negatively affect your gpa. why wouldn't an advanced history course count towards your advanced history credits? regardless, a D is not going to help you.
