If you were really ill and work in an office environment where people sit close to you. if you were ill would you go to work and spread the germs around or would you stay at home and get better. bearing in mind that taking time off will look bad in the job role you are in!!!!
This is a dilema as a few of my work mates are in this situation and the germs just keep going round the office and no-one seems to get better!!
Opinions please :-)

I only ask coz i've had a lot of time off work and have had a verbal warning, but if you're really not fit for work it's just an annoying "catch 22" situation!! My friends have been off too and they've had warnings also. it's not good really!

time for a staff meeting to take a vote on those in favor of "staying at home" when the cold virus is in the office then you will all know what to do without looking bad

i'd go to work. sure everybody would catch the illness but then they would get over it and be immune to it. therefore it's most beneficial not to take the time off.
if you didn't have your co-workers the virus, someone else would. also you don't have to display symptoms to have an illness, so even those who feel healthy may be transmitting the germs onto others.
just go to work. fighting off a virus is easier than fixing whatever mess is caused by taking a day off.
for example; if i miss one lecture at university, it's much more hard work to catch up on what i missed, rather than to just turn up in the first place :)
hope you're okay

Take Airborne - and have everyone else take it to - get some Clorox wipes and wipe down keys and phones as well as lavatory handles. You need to work - the only other option is to make your environment healthier. You can also get a living plant and put it on your desk to help decontaminate the air. Good Luck!

I would go into work and when everyone is so sick that they can't work then the boss is going to have to let you stay home isn't he, lets hope the boss will start to take a bit more notice of you all then.

If I am very sick and contagious, I would stay home. In the end, that would be the best thing for you as well as your coworkers.
I work for a very large lawfirm and we have actually distributed literature to this effect.

In my case I would have no choice....I would have to go into work...
But if am sick and do go to work...would stay back away as far as could from people and not breath in their general direction, and would definitely be stocked up on Lysol wipes.
