Eventually the earth will stop spinning as the effects of tidal forces take their toll on the planet's angular momentum. This phenomenon is known as Tidal Lock (the moon itself is tidally locked with one side facing the earth).
Planetary gravity will not be affected nor will our orbital momentum--thus the planetary oribital radius-- around the sun (assuming there is no incident application of force that rapidly stops the spinning).
At this point, extensive (and subjectively, catastrophic) atmospheric changes will occur as the oceans/bodies of surface water on one side of the planet are constantly heated while those on the unlit side of the earth are allowed to cool uninterrupted. Remember: these bodies of water are the earth's greatest temperature regulators.
There could be temperate zones along the equatorial terminators, but the uneven heating of the earth's atmosphere will give rise to large storm systems making much of the planet barely (if that) habitable.

We would have extreme heat on the side facing the sun, and complete darkness on the other side. Just like the moon with it's one side facing us.
This would result in the dark side becoming a barren frozen landscape in which life could not survive long. Shortly the oceans would likely freeze solid in the dark areas.nothing would grow except in a few vent heated places.
On the hot (light side) side life would soon end as our gravity would began to fail, and the extreme heat would make living htere unbearable.
This earth spinning motion is what keeps the planet alive, gives it gravity as the solid iron core continiously creates motion and restructuring of the planet aboove and below the seas.

then the we feel the full effect of the sun's gravitaional pull and are graduaully pulled into the sun and eventually die. not to mention that throughout that period, the part of the world facing the sun will remain day and the temperature will get hotter while the other side remains night and the temperature is also increasing because we are getting closer to the sun.
