I'm talking about Blacks in Britain, Europe, South America, USA, Canada, and Europe. Most of them all have the same problem: POVERTY AND RACISM.
I don't think it's because they're all lazy and stupid either. I smell racism.

Well its one of two factors, blacks only recently were allowed Independence and equal treatment. They were repressed, invaded, brainwashed, beaten, and killed for centuries upon centuries by other races. They were forced to live in poor conditions and areas with poor education. Many still reside in those areas, unfortunately. Many still have an inbred belief that they can't go anywhere other then where they are.

Another factor is invasion of culture. Blacks were probably better off before before explorers came and raped the land and tried "civilizing" the people. They were happy, healthy and well fed in the huts and tribes they were in and now they are diseased and hungry because one culture tried "civilizing" another to their own standards.

As a result, the consequences of the past are effecting blacks to this day. We are now just beginning to learn to rise above what we were told about ourselves for the past few centuries and bettering ourselves. Many are still brainwashed by the past BUT were are slowly getting past it and learning that we don't HAVE to stay poor. We can rise above it.

This is a very brief answer as there are many other more detailed reasons to why but I hope it gives you an idea.

The countries you mention all have two things in common - (1) chattel slavery as a political and economic institution and (2) colonialism.

Slavery, as practiced in the New World colonies (by peoples of the Old World, Europe - England, France, and Spain for the most part) was predicated on the ideology of racism e.g. that darker skinned peoples were subhuman. Whole socio-economic systems were created and maintained along these lines. Important in this is the outright exclusion and/or limited access to the means of producing and accumulating wealth in those societies.

When emancipation finally came, those former slaves and their ancestors were entered into a race - wherein the starter pistol had gone off centuries before! It's like walking into a room an seeing a person sitting at a chess game. You sit down (because that's the only game in town) and discover that you are several moves behind, are missing several key pieces, and have a poor strategic position relative to the person who was already sitting there. You have no means of restarting the game and even the suggestion of having the other player give you a few pawns causes the other player to whine "I sat down to the game just like you. I shouldn't be penalized for the players that came before me. You shouldn't get an unfair advantage just because you sat down after me!"

The fact is that SOME people of African descent are lazy and stupid. But I would argue that the percentage is no more of no less than with any ethnic group. I know plenty of lazy and stupid WASPS.

The effects of colonialism, interntional misdevelopment, imperialism, etc. have had, and continue to have, devastating effects on those areas which were former colonies, internal colonies and "protectorates" - as well as on the citizens of those areas. Add to it stereotyped images and ideas, as well as ignorant people like some of those who have posted here and - voila! The system is handed down to the next generation.

A LUTA CONTINUA!!!

likely because your definition of "rich" comes from a western economic stand point. A person deep in tribal Malawi doesn't need a beemer, ghiradelli chocolate or prada shoes. Therefore, while they might consider themselves rich, you would not consider them rich.

you're also being influenced by the pictures you constantly see on tv. if we showed pictures of the Appalachians or the ghetto then people would think that Americans were poor. however, America is clearly not poor.

take a trip to Africa (esp south Africa). i think you will be surprised.
