I've bought DIMM SDRAM 512 DDR according to my motherboard and everything was just peachy but when I inserted it CORRECTLY off course the PC just didn't work , it just froze when it was turned on and nothing happened, not even the BIOS would show.....could it be the voltage defined by the JP which is 2.5 V......?
if i want to know info about the ram by the internet, how ?
info:
Soltex Motherboard that takes up to 2 GB RAM with DIMM slot
The former RAM is DDR 256 that worked just fine
I've tried everything except asking for ur help!!? please ^_^ thanks !

Not all DDR RAM is the same. Some motherboards have compatibility problems with the cheaper high density modules. It's possible your motherboard only supports low density single-sided memory modules.

first... did you replace or add on?? if you added onto the original ram you need to put the slower speed in the primary slot and then the faster into the next slot. if you replaced the chip with a new one you may have to go into your bios and manually set the clock speed for the chip in order for the board to recognize it. voltage shouldnt make any difference. the only other option would be to do a master reset with jumper 1 on the board and sometimes that will fix most minor problems however it will reset your date/time in your bios so that will have to be manually fixed

if its plain "sd" ram then thats the problem ... u need ddr ram and preferably the same speed and latency ... so u put ur old stuff back in and hopefully it still works .. and then u install the free edition of everest and see what the old ram specs are ... and then get some new stuff to match it ...

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's site and you'll find everything to know about the RAM it can use.

First you have to read mainboard manual and follow it exactly if you followed and still your computer is hanging. then definitly there is a problem with your RAM module
