Last night, after my boyfriend had just left for a brief errand, I heard someone trying to get into one of the doors in the basement. There were a few banging noises & thumps, but I wasn't sure if I had actually heard them or not.

I knew my bf would be coming back in about 30 minutes & I also know that I am prone to "hearing noises" when I'm alone & getting myself all worked up for no reason. So I didn't call him & called a female friend instead.

When the thumps happened softly again, I knew at that point that someone was trying to get in. Then I heard the door knob rattle. I checked outside & didn't see my bf's truck (& we don't use those doors).

Luckily, my bf showed up right before I called the police.

The noise turned out to be my cat, who had snuck into the "breaker" closet earlier when I had to flip a breaker, & instead of meowing like any normal cat, he thumped himself against the door & attempted to operate the door knob using his paws! I told him to meow next time!!

Baltico72, I'm sorry that happened to your friend.

Other potential answers please note that I used a "slash" on scary/funny, meaning that I hope that the story you add here will be both.

Thank you.

Denise just came in to her one room Downtown Brooklyn Flat, Oxford Street, only to find her cat missing. As she tuned to undress a huge figure leaped out from behind the floor length curtains ... beat and raped her.
That was 38 years ago and she probably will never forget it...scary enough?

Write the story. Don't think about it, just write it. You seem to have a great sense of humor along with your great sense of bad things that can happen to you. But then, the world is a crazy place. We get to sit home and watch every one of the worst and most scary events of each day portrayed as if it were necessary information to top of our day. With just a little more deregulation, we can actually look forward to watching...............!
