think of the characters (vampire, zombie, psycho, ghost, etc), the place, and then add in lots of gory bits. you might want to write down a few things they could say. i think a haunting is a good idea. here are some ghost stories that can give you a few ideas (and a good read).

It doesn't have to be some sick death horror story. A good horror story you could write is something with a lot of embarrassment. Imagine the 'horror' of having to sing or dance in front of millions and messing up? There's an idea.

"As a writer..." Good God. Shut up.
Now, as a writer, I'm not really good with horror stories, but I can tell you that the best ones always come from your own mind. It could be a murder that was never solved because you've always wanted to kill your boss, it could be a monster that eats people, a vampire you've always found sexy...
Horror stories come from the sick, twisted inside that all of us possess, no matter how we try to deny it. It's not always sexual, it's not always psychotic, it's not always fantastic, but it's always there, in some shape or form.
So, look into you and decide what would scare or enrapture you the most, then add a little gore, and get it over with.

I've read alot of what great writers say the key to writing a good story is to just start writing, and let the story write itself.
Issac Asimov told his publisher that he had an idea for a story with no plot. That no plot story became seven books of the Foundation series. So if you want to write.WRITE.

We can't write your story for you...you have to think of some ideas yourself. But I'll tell you that the most important element in a horror story is suspense. Keep the suspense going in the story.

As a writer myself, I must agree with 11:11. That's the most fun assignment I've ever heard of! Surely u can remember back to a scary story told to you, or something you've seen that you can draw from. Good Luck and use your own creativity. Trust it.

As a writer, I find it very appaling that you would ask someone to write an entire story for you. Why would someone give you an entire plot to a story and not use it for their own benefit. That would be stupid.
If you have an assignment, I suggest you refrain from procrastination. And try to use your own brain and creativity and stop trying to leech off us.
