The best way to understand the opposite sex is not to listen to what they say, but to watch what they do. Do you agree or disagree?

I think that is the best way to understand anyone - same sex or opposite sex.

The best way would be to listen and watch. It would probably help if everyone would stop pretending that they are offended by little things.

Ex 1: Women take too long getting ready (Guys do too with all that hair gel, and precision shaving).
Ex 2: Guys always leave the seat up (So? Girls always leave it down, and that is why some guys pee on the seat).

In other words, if you care about either sex, then you will understand them.

Well, you know what they say....actions speak louder than words.

Body language is a good indicator of a person's true meaning. For instance, if a man asks his wife, "What's wrong?" and she says, "Nothing," the man may make the mistake of his life if he shrugs his shoulders, says "ok," and then turns back to his beer and football. If her arms are crossed and her face is upside down when she says, "Nothing," you can be 100% sure that she wants you to turn the TV off and say, "Tell me what you're feeling." lol

Viva la diference!

Having said this, however, I still think it's important to *listen* to the words....just not to the exclusion of other cues. Communication is about the whole person. That includes body language, eye movements, non-word vocal cues, and what *isn't* said, as much as what *is* said. Men and women are completely different creatures when it comes to communication. It behooves men and women, both, to pay attention to all the cues coming from the opposite sex.

Good question! : )

If women want to understand men, they have to pay more attention to what men do than what they say. That's because men are poor verbal communicators and set more store by what they do in life than anything else. So, what they do is what they are.

If men want to understand women, they have to pay more attention to what women say than to what they do. That's because womanly emotions are complex, causing them to do contradictory things that seem illogical to rational men. The less attention a man pays to what a woman says, the more unreasonable her behaviour is likely to become, in his opinion. What a woman feels is what a woman is.

I guess that is a good idea. I found that most women seem to care more about the reasons behind situations or their feelings they felt at the time. Sometimes they forget that psychics don't really exist.

Actions definitely speak louder than words. Though words should be acknowledged.

Yes, actions speak louder than words. But it's just deciphering what those actions mean. HTH : )
