My thoughts are: GWENYTH (sp?) PALTROW - best British accent...HUGH JACKMAN - best American accent...BRAD PITT - (several) has spoken like European gypsies who said he was perfect. He did a perfect Texan accent to play on King of the Hill not too long ago. SEAN PENN - perfect accent when playing a Mexican. He's done other accents extremely well, too. Who would you say does a great accent?

Meryl Streep is the best at every accent. I agree with your choices, but lets not forget foreign actors that do American accents perfectly. I picked them because I was SHOCKED to find out that they were not American..
Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck) she is British and plays an American on the show.
Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) is Australian. :-)
Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under/ Brothers and Sisters) is Australian and she does a teriffic American accent.

All I know is that as a South African, Leonardo DiCaprio is a joke when trying to pull off a Saffa accent. As we say in our country... he was kak!
Brad Pitt was great in Snatch and Kalifornia and would take my vote. Angie Jolie's wierd accent in Alexander was kinda sexy too!
