I have this lovely Dior liquid eyeliner, whenever i try to apply it to my upper lid it always goes wrong, the line is too thick and it smudges. I can apply normal pencil eyeliner well, but does anyone have any tips on how to apply liquid one??

practice! and what you can also do is, do what you want with a pencil eyeliner and then go over it with liquid. i usualy just start off with a thin line at the center of my eyelid, to the outer end going a little thicker [not alot!]. and on the bottom i put pencil and go over with a little with liquid so the black will stay. i hope that helps!

Pull the brow of your eye you are applying it to away from your eye, now lightly work the brush from the out to in so that you don't have such a mess, make just a thin line first then reapply if needed. I make my eyeliner thick on the outer part of the eye and thinner towards the center. I think it makes the lashes look longer. One more tip always apply shadow first!! That saves for smudges.

I love liquid eyeliner. Bring your face right up to the bathroom mirror and rest your elbow on the counter. You can then apply the eyeliner with a steady hand. Do one eye at a time so you can allow each one to dry for about one minute.

Practise makes perfect so good luck!

Been there, done that :)

Eyeliners are my #1 essential piece of makeup!!

I've gotten alot of practice with pencil and liquid ones

If you want to start using liquid liners, you should start by using the thick, felt tip types. The one i love to use is from Kate (japanese brand). Don't start by using the thin type because it is very hard to use (til this day i still haven't mastered it!) But once you've learnt to nicely use the thicker felt tip types, you can move on to the thinner type. Good luck

I think you can get liquid eyeliner in different thicknesses. You could always try to put paper over the bottom half of your face and keep it there till the eyeliner has dried then if it runs while it is drying it will just fall on to the paper.

Since you are use to your normal pencil eyeliner, I suggest you stain the tip of your normal pencil eyeliner with your Dior liquid eyeliner. I do that sometimes when I am rush for time...

Okay this is what you need to do.....close the eye that you are trying to apply the eyeliner to.at the outside corner of your eye pull it towards your eye. This will make the skin tight, use the tip of the wand and apply right above your eyelashes keep your eye shut till the liner is dry open your eye and ta-da!!

if you apply it before your shatdow, take a q-tip and dip in in make-up remover, then run it along the top of the line, making it even. to keep it from smudging, keep your eyes closed for about 30 seconds after applying it, and wait until it is completely dry to apply shadow.

first, rub your eyeliner tip on a tissue to clear the extra liquids & apply it slowly.
Honestly, practice makes it perfect.
