Don't you think it's a little naive to go into that field with no experience? Why don't you both get jobs at travel agencies and see how it works first? Travel agents need to know SABRE and how to get deals and schedule routes for their clients. You really should spend a minimum of one year exposing yourself to how the systems work before trying to set it up on your own.

MONEY! The answer is MONEY! Of course it will be wise to get to know how travel agency work and what profession have the people working there. You definitely have to hire such people who will know what have to be done. Also you have to make good advertising campaign so the future clients will know about you. Do you get my drift?

There are alot of aspects that you have to cover to be ready to create such agency. I think that working in such agency is a good start to get some exp. but what you'll need most are money.

The idea is good tough and I wish you luck

You'd be better off working in the industry for a while, seeing how it all works, building experience and a name, and THEN trying to start your own business.

Most businesses fail in their first year, so it's a good idea to give it the best starting chance :)

Either that, or get someone on board who does have experience.

Unfortunately not, because running a successful travel agency is ALL ABOUT experience!
