Miranda was. But millions of years ago Uranus was struck by a planet-sized object that not only tilted it's own axis nearly ninety degrees but shattered it's large moon that eventually reconfigured itself into the Frankenstein-ish orb it is now.

I think Jupiter got them.
The below link is specific to Uranus and is NASA so should be OK to check out. Not sure what all it tell, but, may get you started to learn more.
