Hello, I am a seventeen (almost eighteen) year old girl and I’m not sure whether or not I have a vaginal infection. I’ve had one in the past I believe but…it wasn’t exactly like this. Anyways, I’ll just write down my symptoms and if anyone can give me advice it will be much appreciated.

I have a thick-ish white discharge (definitely more then usually) I do not know if it smells strange or anything because I have a cold therefore I can’t smell anything. I believe that the skin on the outside of my vagina is pinkish/red. Now why I find it different from a yeast infection is because it’s not really itchy and my boy friend and I were about to have sex (just last week because then I didn’t really possess any of the symptoms from above) but when he tried to penetrate I suddenly felt pain and discomfort therefore we didn’t (it wasn’t my first time having sex).

Anyways, if anyone can give me their thoughts or adive it will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot
-Stranger

Use OTC medication such as,Benadryl or Cortaid.,you can also dab an over-the counter hydrocortisone cream around the valva and vaginal opening to lessen the itch.Just be sure you don't use these creams before seeing a doctor becouse they may cover up an infection and prevent a proper dignosis.
WISH YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR.2007.

Don't think it's yeast, but it could be bacterial vaginosis, either way you should see your doctor and get cultured for treatment.
