If I felt any sorrow, it was in knowing that his whole life was a tragedy: he slaughtered so many, hurt so many, tortured and raped so many and it was all for power.

And in the end, what did that power give him? Nothing but a rope. He got a taste of what he gave to others.

In bin Laden's case, I hope we shoot on site.

I call it transferred compassion and I have a hard time trying to explain it. It is the same mentality where a group of people with candles stand outside of a prison protesting the execution of a mass murderer rather than applying the effort and energy to help the relative of his victims.
I suspect it is a form of exhibitionism which says "look at me don't you see how much compassion I have How much I truly care" personally I find it disturbing.

Because some people are idiots and want to believe that the entire world should be nice and pretty. Unfortunately, because mistakes were made in the realm of foriegn policy every idiot thinks that they can make themselves seem more intelligent than they are by talking about it. Get this straight. Talking about any subject wont make you sound smart or stupid, its the things you say that do that.

certain groups think of the sad state of humanity when you have to punish death with more death. At the end of the day, Saddam that was about to be executed was not the same exact man who ordered the shiie massacres. you understand even you are not the same person you were 8 years ago? personalities are constantly changing even crazy murderers...

You bet there will be a similar reaction if Osama is captured, assuming he is not already dead.

When revisionists are teaching our children history, and the US is always the bad guy in that history, this is what we get. I blame public education.

It is the Demoncrat way to want to punish the innocent and let the guilty go free. Therefore, it is "progressive" and "Hollywood" and "avant garde" for one to care more about the criminal than the people the criminal hurt.

I makes me sick, but than again, so does everything the Demoncrats do.

A lot of intelligent people do not support the death penalty, me being one of them. I dont care one way or another if saddam lived or died but I personally think the death penalty is the easy way out
