I have seen the full video of Saddam's Hanging. He was very confident and determined at that time. I've never seen a man facing death in that brave way. All i learn from his death is that WE MUST BE DETERMINED TILL THE LAST MINUTE OF LIFE AND LIVE AND DIE BRAVELY.

I also watched the video of the hanging and agree with you, Saddam died like a man, in fact I would go further he died surrounded by animals that taunted him and gave no respect to civilisation whatsoever. Who actually says that Saddam was a bad leader? certainly no one did while he was in power. Al those who said he was a bad leader are now coming out of the wood work like the worms they are. Saddam refused to wear a hood but you will have noticed that his captors and tormentors all wore hoods. Saddam stood up to his tormentors and put an end to anyone calling him a coward as the Americans did at his capture.
I'm afraid the reason for the fury at showing the video was the authorities could not lie about Saddam's character. Many of the newspapers had already prepared editorials about Saddam but the video proved beyond all doubt that Saddam died as a brave Iraqi.

The lesson we can learn is that even in the 21st century that politicians (Bush & Bliar) can get away with contriving a kangaroo court and commit political murder and the world says nothing, the UN says nothing.
It is truly astonishing that the same two people (Bush & Bliar) in the same situation would scream all the way to the gallows.
I fear for all of the human race with such politicians leading us.
President Saddam Hussein was a tough, brave and proud man of his people and culture and not understood at all by the west, as similarly he did not understand western politicians and this in many ways led to his demise.

I'm not going to say people are sick to look for that kind of **** to download from the net because that would be judgmental. But, I will say that the WILL to see that kind of thing is sick. For instance, Faces of Death. I downloaded a video from a fellow when I was in college, not knowing what I was about to see and I will forever be haunted by what I saw: A guy pulling a gun out of a brown paper bag and blowing his face off. I didn't puke. I didn't feel sick. I didn't cry. I just didn't talk to my roommates for about a day because I was in shock. If you think I'm a wus cuz I couldn't handle that, good for you. Want a cookie? I could give a **** what anyone else thinks.

The man was sick not brave. He never showed any remorse at his trial, only contempt. He never showed any mercy to his victims. No normal person would go around mass slaughtering innocent people. He was caught hiding in a hole with a huge amount of stolen money. Nothing about him was brave. He tried every trick in the book to get away with his crimes. Millions of people searched the Internet for the video of his hanging. I do not blame his executioners for the taunts and showing his execution. They loathed and hated him for his sins against their fellow countrymen.

If you, as I suspect, meant to say "What lesson SHOULD we learn...", then the answer is simply "Why should we have to learn ANYTHING from it?" He was a murderer and thief amongst other things - even to the extent of having his own son-in-law shot, so as far as I can see he got what was due, so if there IS a lesson to be learned from this, it's "Don't get caught". The show he put on right to the end was simply because he didn't have much choice. That trap-door was going to be sprung open come what may.

Not to go around hanging people?...

Btw, when it comes to Mr Hussein, I believe that his egocentrical madness must not be confused with real confidence and courage only found in a man who had experienced true humility.

Just out of interest: what is it that are you feel you must be so determined about, from now to eternity?

:)

That we need better angles and lighting.
Saddam looked dazed to me... brave, schmave, he had a more peaceful end than the thousands he killed with gas and torture.
Compared to the way those lives ended, he must have felt he was getting off easy.

God.. are you going to be attacked for saying the truth.

Fact remains that even though Saddam was a tyrant of the worst kind you have to admire his strength of character at the moment of death.

What it showed us is he lived by the sword and was prepared to die by the sword.. Unlike the self professing Christians who are prepared to send other people's children to their death and did not want to do their duty when they were required to.
