team: is defined as a group of beings working in harmony towards a specific goal.
personalities of people are important in a team because it qualifies the person on aspect of the job of which he is best suited.
size of a team doesnt make a diff. what matters is the motivation and willingness of the people to work together in achieving their goal.
Achieving the goals will define how well the team is working together.
if you mean top talent on their specific job. then i would want everyone to be top talent.

I know the "team" thing is supposed to be considered important.

I think it's nothing but alot of nonsense geared to discriminating and keeping some people out of the job market.

I saw a program, I believe it was 60 minutes, with John Stossel? That said basically the same thing.

And last I heard there is a program to recruit the Baby Boomer's back into the work force!

It's no wonder. They are very good worker's. And we have thouroughly disgusted them.

It's ok, they will see through the nonsense. They're smart people. Why wouldn't they be, they've managed to change everything in the world as we know it. They are a very valuble contribution.

I believe you work with who you are given to work with, and you just learn to like them.

If we are not the employer, we didn't pick them, we are not paying for them.

We ought to just learn to like them. It won't kill us, and maybe make better people out of us. Get mad till we get glad, ya know?

Or, forget mad! Just get glad. Takes all of us to make a world.

You could spend a lot of time trying to quantify and atriculate what defines a team player, but the definition of a team player is quite simple. Any definitions or characteristics you might come up with will all point back to this defining characteristic...

Team Player = Someone whose primary interest lies with the success of the entire team and not his or her individual success or accomplishments.
