Because this is a boyfriend of 4 years and you love him it should not be hard to tell him how you feel. There are different ways you could pull this off. Visit an adult novelty store together and pick some things out. Just tell him you want to try out something new. Or you can take control of 'driving' and let him enjoy the ride. Bottom line is if he loves you the way you love him the truth should not hurt and he should be willing to do anything to make you happy. Teach him how to cater to you.

Just deny it when he's starting to become active in the bed, and if he asks, tell him what you feel. He might really be appealing to you, but every time you ask for it, he doesn't want to become too aggressive. Ask if he's okay with just being very close friends, or even dating, but just not a sexual relationship, and then go get someone that you feel comfortable in the bed with, and is living up to what you want.

I had the same situation when I was in college. We were together for 4 yrs and for all that time the sex was nothing to speak of. Because of that I rarely wanted to have sex. He always complained about it so one day I asked him "If you never came while having sex, would you want to have sex as often as you do ?". There is no way to do it without hurting their feelings but for god sake why should you be punished ? Just say it.

I'd do it casually. Like you could both be reading magazines and they always have a section where they give new ideas in bed and different styles and stuff. You could say it casually like "you should read that" or that he could learn something from it. If he asks why you could tell him then but in a joking manner. That would leave him thinking and getting the picture,

you are just as responsible, if you havent done anything to make him better in 4 years, then youve let him believe hes doing a good job.
tell him what feels good, and ask what you do to make him feel good,
he might think your a dud lay too!
work it together explore together, if you tell him you think hes a dud after all this time, he might feel betrayed and that hes not good enough.
learn together and have fun

that is a good question. have you tried directing him in bed? like "oh, right there or to the left/ right" . if he is not getting a clue try talking to him right after you finish. just be gentle, so as not to hurt his feelings or crush his ego.

Get a couple of books and/or videos on sexual techniques and tell him you just want to learn how to make it even better between you.

Instead of TELLING him he's not cutting it for you, tell him lets try new positions and different variations. Different positions help with orgasms because they give more penetration. TRY NEW THINGS HUN!

Tell him you want to start exploring more, playing games or such. Then slowly incorporate what you want more of into what you are doing.
