Although it has been printed as Aaron many times, it reads "Aron" on his tombstone. The twin brother who died at birth was given the name Jesse Garon, so it would seem to make sense (some sense anyway) that Elvis' middle name would be spelled Aron.
To find out from Elvis himself, one might have to catch him during one of his "sightings" to ask him.

His middle name was for his Dad's friend Aaron, but it was spelled Aron to be more in line with his stillborn twin Jesse Garon Presley.

Here's a little snippet from that link.
"Elvis was named after his father, Vernon Elvis Presley, and Mr. Presley's good friend in Tupelo, Aaron Kennedy. Aron was the spelling the Presleys chose, apparently to make it similar to the middle name of Elvis' stillborn identical twin, Jesse Garon Presley. Jesse was apparently named after Vernon's father, Jessie Presley, although the spelling was slightly different."
