Have you ever saw (it's usually just one and not a pair) a shoe just sitting in the road or on the sidewalk? I saw someone throw a shoe out of a car the other day. Why are they thrown/left in the street. I can't image that many people are hit by cars and the shoes are just left there. It's an odd phenomenon. Any clues? Have you ever thrown your shoe in the street?

LOL. Wow, did you just give me a flashback!

When I was in college I had a pair of brown corduroy (really!) Candies that my roommates hated. One day on the way home from an exceptionally long happy hour (that should explain everything...), I was in middle of the back seat with my feet up on the front console. My roommate pulled off one of my shoes and threw it out of the sunroof. We never found it.

I can't speak for everyone else, but that explains one shoe on the side of the road in Michigan.

Or how about the shoes hanging from the overhead telephone lines. I have seen hanging shoes and shoes on the side of the road that were not cheap by anyone's standards.
It must be a kid/teenager game, as no adult would waste that much money on a $130.00 pair of shoes just to throw one out the window.

Makes me wonder how they explain to mom and dad what happened to their relatively new pair of expensive shoes.....that conversation would be interesting.

I have no idea what would prompt someone to just drop their shoes on to a street... I've even seen a few pairs hanging from a telephone wire, tied together with shoelace.
