You can borrow my 3 cats. You will never have another (live) mouse in your place ever again.

There are loads of products on the market - but I've not had too much success with them!

- You can buy 'humane' mouse traps - eg a tunnel that closes after the mouse goes in to get whatever food you've tempted them in with. I've never seen a mouse stupid enough to go in one, but they must work for some people.
-Then there are sticky pads - which are possibly effective, but I've read they are the most inhumane and unhygenic ways to kill mice (the mice stick to the pad and then break their limbs trying to get off, whilst urinating, etc everywhere in their panic - sounds disgusting!).
- Then there are plug-in mouse deterrents that supposedly give out a high-pitched noise that we can't hear but the mice will hate. I only bought a cheaper version of one of these and found it had no effect. Other people have claimed they worked though.
- If you call in pest control they will help, but they tend to just put traps round your house.

I'd really agree with everyone else here and say the classic method is getting a cat or dog. Just the smell scares away the mice.

Anyway - good luck!

Well, the mice were no doubt there long before your flat was, so give them some leeway. With the constant expansion of the human race, we are driving more and more animals out of their natural habitat.
Try a cat if necessary, or one of the aforementioned things that you plug in and it emits an extremely high pitched noise which apparently will deter various rodents.
If you must consider traps, then please get humane traps. These are small plastic tubes, which you set with food at one end. As the mouse steps on a bit of the plastic on its way to the food, a small door shuts behind it, closing it in the tube. You then check the tube each day. If there is a mouse in it, you can take the whole thing to the nearest park and release the mouse.
I find in general that the human race is far too quick to try and kill anything it finds in the home. We are the latecomers to this planet and it should be for us to fit in with them.

a cat definately gets rid of them. We had a big problem wid mice as we live neaxt to the countryside. Some how the traps didnt work. But when we brought a cat home they all seemed to disappear. Not because the cat scared them away or ate them, but as soon as a mouse smells the scent of a cat it scrams! Take it from an experienced person, a cat is really the answer, plus theyre cute!

Try a female (jill) ferret. They can be house trained and make nice pets, and unlike cats that just play with mice, the ferret will hopefully eat the little dears for you, so no clean ups to do.

Otherwise, find where they are getting in and block up all the gaps. I have also had success with 'splat' traps baited with peanut butter. The downer there is having to deal with all the little corpses. Good luck.

I have this same problem. I have caught many mice in my apartment and they keep comming back nonstop. I have 2 little kids so I can't put mouse traps, so I have to use the gluepads which don't work. Seriously consider moving...

My advice is if you like cats and want one, now is the time, mice don't like the smell of cats and the cats will hunt them for you. Good Luck

There are several options available to you. You may wish to buy an air-rifle as a legal and effective way of dispatching the pests. However, you will need a good aim.
A good alternative is a shotgun, pellets go everywhere and you almost can't miss. On the negative side, this does a lot more damage to the flat, and you will also need a license - this makes this method more expensive.
The most difficult, but most rewarding, is a mallet. Sharpen up those sneaking skills - you'll need to get nice and close without being detected, then a few good splats will solve your problems.

Call the Pied Piper ;)

Poison is becomming less effective to rodents. They build up some immunity. If you don't wish to use traps, or deal with this yourself, you would be better to call in a pest control expert. They may advise you how the mice are getting in too in order to prevent further infestations.

BEST THING IS TO GET A CAT,AS MOST MICE ARE IMMUNE TO THE POISONS NOW. YOU COULD GET SOME MICE TRAPS BUT THEY ARE VERY MESSY, ALSO IF YOU HAVE THEM THE OTHER FLATS WILL TO,SO MAKE SURE THEY TRY TO GET RID OF THEM AS WELL ,OR THEY WILL JUST KEEP COMING BACK.

I just got those trap and release traps and they worked wonders. They were cheap too! I caught 4 in one day. They are a plastic box with a door that only swings one way so the mouse cannot get out. Use peanut butter as bait. Check traps everyday and when you are ready to release them, make sure you walk a few blocks away to do it.

you could get a ferret. the smell of the ferret will make the mice leave. and if you live in a NO PETS housing they are usually aloud because they stay in a cage when not supervised. but if you don't want an animal, sharper image sells a plug in devise (that actully works) i lived in a trailer once and it kept all animal from finding a winter home under it.
