I am 24 years old. I recently have felt a tightness in my left bicep and the left side of my chest. I went to the doctor because I thought I had an irregular heartbeat but they did an EKG that turned out normal. What could cause this tightness in my left bicep and the left side of my chest? It's been going on for about a month now. It doesn't hurt me, but I'm definitely having some discomfort. Does anyone have any idea what this may be?

The thing is I have not been working out. I did not go to a cardiologist, but I went to an internist who did the EKG. He said my heart rate was normal. However this feeling has not gone away after about 5 weeks. It just feels like there is a knot in my bicep and that sometimes the left side of my chest feels very tight also.

Well it does sound like your tests are all clear and that you have a problem with dealing with stress, exercise is the best treatment for this so do anything that gets you moving. If you still feel there's something wrong go to a different doctor and get a second opinion. although your symptoms match stress and anxiety, I would be concerned about Angina or other heart related issues. You could also relieve your worries by self medicating (only with your docotrs permission mind!) and taking half an aspirin tablet daily google it for it's said health benefits. worrying also adds to the problem so do go back for more checks but also start a new exercise programme and see if this relieves your stress,

Do you work out in a way that could be pulling these areas?

Rub in asparcream. It doesn't smell but helps relieve the pain.

You know a Chiropractic adjustment might very well relieve the problem. When a nerve gets pinched in the spine the pain radiates around the body to cause problems in the front.

I have a vertebrae that shifts and pinches and I get miserable stomach aches. One adjustment and it is fixed every time.

Good Luck.

If a cardiologist cleared you, then I suspect what you are experiencing is the physical manifestation of an anxiety disorder.
Pretty common in today's environment.

Hello =)

Ok....you've been to the doctor...and you're 24.....

I would think probably stress/anxiety, mostly......could be other things....are you left handed by chance?? Could be job-related fatigue if you are....

Also, sleeping posture has a lot to do with persistent aches and pains....and mystery things like this....

Namaste,

--Tom
