Nothing, domain names are techincly public domain, unless the name carries full association with a particular person place or thing. It has been concluded that unless you have clear and unyealding rights to the domain you can't stop someone else from purchesing that particuculare one or one similar to it, unless the purchesing of that domain is intended to effect you personally, e.g. BestBuy.com is owned by the electronics store, if someone came along and say purchesed Best-Buy.com (which is owned by a competitor btw) and tryed to pass themself off as the other store they could have something done to them.

Since adding that word maks the domain name different, you are probably out of luck unless the new domain name contains a word or phrase that is copywrited or trademarked. otherwise, new is new, and you are outta luck. : (
