Common sense provides a foundation for "book learning", as you call it. The same skills we use to interpret what we study in school, are the ones we use in common sense. Deductive and inductive reasoning are skills we use on an everyday basis, whether we realize it or not. We cannot learn common sense, but common sense can lead to higher learning.

I have known people that have had Master's degrees, but no common sense. You can't learn common sense, you have to be born with it. Having a college degree doesn't mean you can deal with everyday life either. People can memorize facts and take tests, but not be able to put those facts into practical use.

There is publication clever and there may be avenue clever. Some persons have each. Common experience can also be found out to a special measure. I wager, I might say that usual experience is studying find out how to learn and believe your instincts. This is whatever that many people have fogotten find out how to do in our modern day global. Tribal persons use their instincts for survival. They do train it to their youngsters however a special quantity of it's INNER realizing.

and applying it in life wisely is common sense...

I don't think either. I think one is born with common sense. I do not believe it is something that can be taught. You either have it...or you don't.
