Probably word of mouth and a big yellow pages ad. Put out those little signs in front of houses you have worked on, especially if people can see your work.

Word of mouth travels rather slowly, though it is effective. If you have friends who need some minor things done, do it as a "freebie" (free labor only) in exchange for say some names of other people needing work. Craigslist.org is a way to go to get the word out, if you have local circulars find out the cost of putting a flyer in one of them. Go through areas in your community and see what looks like it needs doing, chimney's, foundations etc and essentially cold canvas. If people aren't home, take down their address and send them a flyer. Advertise in the paper's "services" section, generally a lower rate of advertising.

Deliver a brick with your info stamped on it. Also, if you have a Web site, make sure that's on there too.
Good luck!

Word of mouth. It spreads faster that way and free.
