Veda Arya have you eaten anything since your birth? Have you been breathing since your birth? Have you been drinking water since your birth? You were then destroying what god had created. Even the life giving air was breathed in by you and life taking air was breathed out. Life giving water was drunk and should we presume that the water was killed in the process of drinking? The water had gone into the body as oblation to the particle of the Godly spirit within each of us inorder to sustain that and every actions of human beings towards god is a repayment of that and similar actions. Are you doing justice to God and its creations? Offering Pushpam to God should not be considered a sin as pushpam or flower in its inflorescence is awaking the God tatwa. Samarpayami do not have an English equivalent. The closest English equivalent is Oblation. For that matter no Sankrit words can have an English equivalence as the sound based Sanskrit prevails syllables prevails all over the cosmos in its resonance as Mantra and cannot be translated in the same depth to many other languages. In fact Samarpana is a Manobhava and when it is focused towards the ethereal existence consciousness bliss, the yami as a matter of awe-striking devotion is added. Any repetition is Japayoga and the upadhi or instrument to that is Mantra whether in the form of Earth as flowers or incense in the form of Agarbatti (or camphor) to activate the ethereal tatwa(principle) of the deity.
