I have a Bakers Cyst. I have had it for five years. I have recently had surgery to repair a torn minuscus. My Doc says that the cyst will go away. But it seems to be growing. What should I do?

Your doctor is correct. Usually nothing needs to be done as the Baker's cyst will resolve. Actually, removing it can damage the nerves and blood vessels around it. After surgery to repair the underlying cause (in your case the torn minuscus), it is not unusual for the Baker's cyst to swell. You don't say how long ago you had the surgery. If it has been a week or more, I would call your doctor back and tell him that it seems to be growing. He needs to know so he can determine if it is related to post op swelling or if it needs to be treated. If the cyst continues to grow or inhibits your movement, it can be aspirated (drained via a needle) which will cause no damage to your nerves or blood vessels.
